In 2010, a non-profit organization was formed by a group of researchers and veterinary practitioners called the North American Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Association, or NAVRMA. NAVRMA’s mission is “to foster the exchange and distribution of scientific information and its clinical applications between research investigators, veterinary practitioners and animal industry participants regarding new developments in regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy,” (NAVRMA 2013). Once a year, the members of this association come together and share what they are working on, and what they have been able to discover. Development of a formal group devoted to this science is a major step toward figuring out how stem cell therapy works by allowing all of the heads in the field to be able to share ideas easily and efficiently, as well as communicate to the public anything they are able to discover. The possibilities are endless for this infant organization and future investigations.
